Dear ICPAU Council Aspirant,
Thanks for offering to serve on the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) Council. I know 12 of you have offered to serve on Council, but there are only seven (7) seats available for election. This means ICPAU members in good standing as at the date of voting shall select only seven members.
As a member of the Institute, we need the best candidate in terms of winning ideas and commitment to the accountancy profession to win.
To win my vote, please tell us more about your agenda by answering the below questions:
- Would you say the ICPAU is healthy and successful from the public impact and policy influence points of view? If not, what would you do to change that as a council member? If yes, what more will you do to make it even better? How would you measure progress?
- What are your top four objectives of wanting to serve on the ICPAU Council that you cannot adequately serve as a member currently? Why is that so? What could cause you to fail as a Council Member? How would you address those challenges?
- ICPAU brings together several students, members, and stakeholders from different backgrounds. Tell us of some examples of when you were a catalyst who brought groups with varying opinions together, had all voices at the table, and championed shared success? Which success?
- What are your plans to inspire Secretariat staff, students, members and general stakeholders (employers and the general public) to provide the highest level of service to their customers – users of the accountancy profession
- Tell us three or four concrete examples from your experience about how you have helped change the culture of any organization? What exactly was your role?
- What are your two core values and how do they shape how you lead?
- The Institute is at crossroads, just like any other membership body, following the COVID-19 pandemic and the winds of change due to the ever-growing needs of the diverse stakeholder. How do you plan to create an environment for innovation within the Council at the Institute?
- In what ways will you help the ICPAU have a committed membership, overcome the challenges we face and work hard to transform it into a regional
- How would your service on the ICPAU Council be measured after your term? Why?
- Tell us how you plan to translate your vision for the Institute’s future success in the 4th Industrial Revolution, covid19 pandemic, and changing role of the accountant into action?
I thank you for taking the time to provide clarity of your vision for the institute. I hope members vote the candidate with the best answers to the above to questions, and more they may have.
