#mindspark. I need guidance. Many times my company receives requests for pre-qualification bids, where you are required sometimes to pay a fee to apply to be prequalified so you may bid to provide services in the future.

Do pre-qualification bids work? Educate me.

In the past, I would commit time and resources to pre-qualification building until I realized it was another wastage of our time and resources.

If a company wants to work with a specific vendor, they will do all it takes to get the vendor to apply even if they had not been pre-qualified since the law or policy does not condemn such a practice.

How many of you have got Business thanks to having been pre-qualified? While starting, I received a letter of notice that our company had been pre-qualified. I thanked God for making that happen.

With my team, we sharpened the pangas and axes and waited for the tree to be made available to us to cut. Never. A year passed and there was no request to submit a proposal or whatsoever. Instead, we received another letter for updating our compliance documents!

I realized that it was all lies.

Focus on being so great that the real buyer notices your company. Otherwise, you will spend a fortune trying to be pre-qualified and no one will ever ask you to submit a proposal! And if they do, you will likely not get it some procuring entities ask for other proposals just to try to show that the process was competitive. Yet they already had a preferred vendor in place even before going out to ask for bids

The procurement law and or policies are a lie! #procurement  What is your take?
