The water tight principle applies to your life just as it works for anything that holds water. Be it a jerry can, glass, bottle, cup and even a boat. The principle states that “if you don’t firmly tighten the lid, the water will leak.” And it doesn’t matter how small or big the leak is, eventually the boat will soon drown, or the jerry can will be empty.
The same principle applies to your daily life and business. If you have small leaks in the business, eventually it will collapse. It is like a small fraud were someone is taking papers, printing personal work using company stationery over a long time, you can’t recover such money. It is such small loses that lead to business collapse.

In life, we go through stages and at each stage, make sure you tighten the bolt to ensure there are no gaps of reversing to the previous state. In the first stage, you are still residing with your parents. In the second stage, you may rent a house. In the third stage, you could be owning your own house. You want to make sure that you set up your business and career in a way that you don’t drift to the past stage. If you have been staying with your parents, move out and rent a house, you want to tighten the bolt so that you don’t have to go back to live with them again. That will be like a step back.
How are you tightening your bolts to ensure that the achievements you make haveno possibility of failing, causing you to go back to the old state? You must apply the water tight principle. Have a clear strategy and avoid living an artificial life. Avoid over borrowing to finance your lifestyle as you have a high risk of reverting back to the old state.
