Summit Consulting Ltd scores again, transforming clients one at a time

    July 16, 2020 / No Comments

To put it another way, a lag indicator is a performance measure that you see only after the fact. For example, when Liverpool did the unthinkable and made a comeback that overturned a 3 – 0 advantage to beat Barcelona FC at Anfield on 7th May 2019, many people were surprised.…

    July 16, 2020 / No Comments

Several Twitter accounts of high-profile people and companies were hacked on Wednesday 15th July 2020, throwing Twitter in the unwanted spotlight. This was a high-level coordinated attack aimed at scheming people through cryptocurrency who have already been battered financially by the coronavirus pandemic. According to Twitter, the attack was possible though “a coordinated social engineering hack, by cybercriminals who successfully targeted Twitter staff with access to the internal systems and tools”, an official statement from Twitter read. COVID-19 case death rate per capita increasing in the US and SA…

    July 15, 2020 / No Comments

Coronavirus pandemic continues to top global news. As of today, total confirmed cases globally stand at 13.3million, out of which 577,954 have died. Uganda is still fortunate with a zero-case mortality rate. To know how lucky Uganda is, study carefully the Table 1, Table 2, and Graph 1. The COVID-19 case death rate in the USA was at 0.039% as of 27th June 2020. The death rate increased to 0.042% as of 15th July 2020. This means as a cumulative number of cases increases, the higher the case mortality. This is not a good trend. The trend more than…

Monthly fraud risk & integrity assurance as a service

    July 15, 2020 / No Comments

As the reality of the economic impact of coronavirus sinks in, you need to explore cost-cutting alternatives. As part of the #coronavirus recovery strategy, leaders of businesses have been conducting a business assessment to identify possible revenue leakages in terms of process redundancy and inefficiency, time, and resource wastages in unnecessary procedures and control weaknesses leading to theft and or fraud losses. One of the silent areas that lead to revenue leakage is unproductive staff on the payroll. We call them the ‘corporate fat.’ This is where the payroll is bloated by staff who do not put in their best…

    July 14, 2020 / No Comments

Jokes aside, and with no offense intended to our Chinese brothers and sisters, we need a scientific explanation of the current state of the coronavirus cases. Uganda has a 0% case mortality rate compared to the global case mortality rate of the virus is 4.4%, which is a welcome development as it shows a decline from an all-time high at 7.1% in May 2020.
