You too can investigate, part 1

    March 12, 2019 / No Comments

Investigating is always a challenging undertaking. That is why there are few investigators. You need all round skills to lead an investigation successfully. Every investigation is unique because the facts. You too can investigate, if you grasp two skills: (i) investigation strategy and (ii) rules of evidence. The latter is necessary because investigation is about affixing blame. Your investigation is not conclusive until you are able to ably answer all the questions well – who did what, where, when, how and why. An answer to each of these investigation questions require that you provide evidence to justify. If you don’t…

    June 28, 2017 / No Comments

Running a business is like a baby. It has got stages. At first the baby cannot crawl. They need a lot of care. Then, the baby starts by crawling. July 1, 2016 / No Comments

Our Economists are yet to advise us of how the economy is fairing. But going by the facts on ground, it is tough: we’ve just had four public holidays. After a highly monetized election, that saw social media and mobile money censor. Economists estimate that action could have cost a lot of money to the economy! Now Brexit has happened upon us. Being a former colony…

Cyber security facts and fiction, issue 1

    May 30, 2016 / No Comments

Issue: A lawyer in Uganda is said to be threatening Facebook for meta-data and user registration details of one TVO; who has made several allegations on his Facebook page.
