Kyambogo top honchos return varsity to government

    November 11, 2013 / No Comments

Kyambogo University council has decided to hand over the institution to the government after admitting failure to strike a deal between the lecturers and the vice chancellor Professor Isaiah Ndiege. The Council which is the university’s top decision making body in a meeting on Friday evening agreed that the Education ministry intervenes to either close the university, suspend Professor Ndiege, or expel the striking staff who do not want to work under the vice chancellor. This follows the three day ultimatum which was given to the University Council by the Junior Education Minister Charles Bakabulindi, to resolve the ongoing issues…

Nelson Mandela (1918 – 2013): Your legacy lives on

    November 6, 2013 / No Comments

He served jail for 27 years. Upon his release, he became president. He served only one (1) term. If he so wished, he would have died as President of the richest country in Africa, South Africa. He chose otherwise. He stepped aside from the Presidency at the time everyone wanted him to be the President. Despite the suffering he had gone through in jail, he never used the state machinery at his disposal to revenge anyone. Instead, he asked for forgiveness. Very few men can do that. And Nelson Mandela’s personal credo is special. Proud that our lifetime has had…

    November 1, 2013 / No Comments

Great leaders don’t take decisions based on financial reasons alone. They consider several factors and options. The choice of Airtel over MTN, as the Cranes sponsor by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA), is likely to be one of the worst decisions for the national team. It is so disappointing to have leaders taking decisions without having put the issues at hand into perspective. Let’s examine what makes a great sponsorship deal or a great sponsor. 1. Aggressive marketing – a great sports sponsor not only promotes, mobilizes. MTN did it! MTN U made the Uganda Cranes brand visible…

    Don’t give up

    October 28, 2013 / No Comments

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” Thomas A. Edison Getting ahead Success is a series of trial and error. Don’t associate with people telling you not to persist. Pick your friends carefully. If someone is less successful than you are, don’t waste your time listening to their negative advice. You may only listen to the less successful if they give you words of encouragement. Life is too short to avoid taking risks. You could become successful through (i) marrying into a rich family, (ii) studying…
