#Covid19 cybersecurity alert: email phishing in Uganda

    April 30, 2020 / No Comments

An email dated 30th April 2020, purportedly coming from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), is fake. It should be deleted instantly from your computer. Select the email, right-click, and press Shift+Delete. Upon receipt of the email, I noticed that it comes from, one Dr. Susan Nabadda Ndidde <sarutexco.ltd@yahoo.com>. For this email, I have confirmed with some staff at the NCHE, who have confirmed that there is no Dr. Susan Nabadda Ndidde. Even if Dr. Susan was a staffer at the National Council for Higher Education, she would use her official email to communicate a request signed with her…

The best virtual video and audio-conferencing software to use

    April 30, 2020 / No Comments

We live in the coronavirus times characterized by lockdown and social distancing. To effectively collaborate remotely as you work from home, you need a good tool to facilitate your virtual meetings for effective collaboration. I know you are all busy executives, so I will go deep to share with you the solutions that I have found easy to use.  I have scored the apps based on ease of use, user interface, functionality, and ability to work on slow internet connections. When it comes to pricing, Skype comes on top (free of charge as of this writing), followed by Zoom (which…

How to formulate a #covid19 response and recovery strategy and work plan

    April 28, 2020 / No Comments

Are you winning or losing to the coronavirus pandemic? The economy, businesses, and lives have been disrupted. Now is the time to put in place a response strategy to respond to the covid19 challenge. The good news is the covid19 risks are systematic – or general risks that affect all the businesses. Unlike unique or unsystematic risks that affect a sector or business, covid19 has affected all companies in equal measure. Covid19 happened suddenly. It is like an airplane that is moving normally and suddenly enters think clouds that cause turbulences, and all the passengers in the aeroplane hold on…

Why Indian families succeed in business than most African ones

    April 27, 2020 / No Comments

I have noticed that Asians – Indians and Chinese work more as a team than Africans. In all countries where Indians operate, they live better lives and run successful businesses. Their success is attributed to a better understanding of how the world works. They do not believe in individualism. A father will allow the children to marry in their home. For example, you have a very rich man like Sudhir Ruparelia, having his son to marry and live in the same house! Yes, the house is big. Much as Sudhir is Ugandan, his practices are teamwork focused and leverage from…

How do you reach a compromise? Have you ever compromised?

    April 26, 2020 / No Comments

Many people want it all to themselves. They do not want to make compromises. Such people may be difficult to deal with because they are “I deserve it all type” with a mentality of entitlement. They see no value in sharing or letting go. It is difficult to make friendships and influence people if you lack the art of compromising. One thing I want to make clear is do not to compromise on your values or principles that are ethical or promote compliance. You should compromise for the interests of the team’s success. We live in a world where people…
